Kmart first opened in Hampton, VA on March 19, 1975. It was renovated exteriorwise around 2008 and again around 2014. On May 19, 2016, it was announced that this location, among many others at that time, would close for good, and it did so in August 2016. I even went there to get pictures just after it had closed for good.
I also went by on other occasions in 2017 and 2018 to get more pictures, which all of them can be found here. The building itself was gutted in either late 2018 or early 2019 and it remained abandoned until Amazon purchased it and converted it into a warehouse in 2021.
I have been here a few times, with my last time being around October 2015. The three images that I took from August 2016 are listed below this.
